Ask a question and get the answer from your own files, with the page it came from. That is retrieval-based answering, the foundation of most document-driven builds. Your documents are split into passages and stored in a searchable index; for each question, the application retrieves the most relevant passages and has the model answer only from them, citing each source.
Each staff member sees answers drawn from the documents they can already open, so private files stay private. One engine can run a staff knowledge tool and the chatbot and voice assistant builds that buyers use.
Documents spread across many systems are gathered through API integration, and data engineering and business intelligence gives the index a clean data layer underneath. When an application has to act inside your tools as well as answer, it works through Model Context Protocol connectors.
