Native apps for iPhone and iPad

iPhone owners can tell at a glance whether an app was made for their phone. Vivid Concept writes Apple apps in Swift with SwiftUI, Apple's framework for building apps across all Apple platforms, as part of software built around your workflow, with the back end shared with your other products.

Objective-C, the language of the first iPhone apps, is among the team's programming skills, so older Apple code is as readable to us as new Swift. Still weighing native code against one shared codebase? Building a mobile app compares the two routes for your product.

Going native gives the app full access to the camera, Face ID, location, Bluetooth, widgets and background tasks. It also follows the gestures and navigation iPhone owners already know, so the app feels familiar from the first tap.

iPad gets a layout of its own, never a stretched phone screen: sidebars, split views and keyboard support where the app gains from them, tested on real iPads as well as iPhones. The result reads as part of the device.

Your iOS App Development Process

  1. DiscoveryWe review your setup, audience and goals, and you receive a clear scope before work starts.
  2. DesignWireframes show each page or screen and how visitors move through it, and you sign off before production.

Interface design that follows Apple's conventions

A developer holds a phone showing an abstract app screen while a designer beside her points at it, both smiling.

Apple users expect familiar navigation and gestures, text that scales with Dynamic Type, dark mode and VoiceOver support. We design to those conventions and place your brand inside them, which gives the app a look of its own and the ease of a built-in one.

Every project has a lead project manager, and the work begins with user experience design: wireframes you review and approve before production, and, for an in-depth evaluation, testing with a pool of people who match your users. SwiftUI lets one codebase adapt across iPhone and iPad sizes, so each layout is designed for its screen.

Payments, sign-in and notifications

We set up every way your app takes money. Physical goods and services can use Apple Pay, one-touch checkout connected to your processor, with Stripe integration as one route. Features, subscriptions and paid content unlocked inside the app run through Apple's in-app purchase, as guideline 3.1.1 sets out.

Sign-in uses passkeys, which Apple describes as replacing passwords with cryptographic key pairs synced through iCloud Keychain. When the app offers a third-party login, we add the private sign-in option guideline 4.8 calls for, one that limits data collection and lets people keep their email address private.

Push notifications go through Apple's push service, with permission requested at a useful moment. We place each thing you sell on the right payment route early, because that choice shapes both the screens and your pricing.

Testing, TestFlight and App Store review

A person pays with a phone tap at a bakery counter, smiling.

Your team should hold the app in their hands long before launch. TestFlight distributes beta builds to as many as 100 internal testers and 10,000 external testers, and we use it to put real builds on your phones early, while changes are still cheap to make.

Before submission we prepare the app for App Review. It gets a privacy policy link in the app and in App Store Connect, account deletion inside the app wherever people can create accounts, accurate metadata and the native features guideline 4.2 looks for beyond a repackaged website.

Since 28 April 2026, Apple has required uploads to be built with Xcode 26 or later, and we keep builds current as Apple's tools move. If review raises a question, we answer it and resubmit.

Back end, APIs and the rest of the product

Most apps depend on a server for accounts, data and content. We build or extend yours through custom API development and connect it to the systems you already run through API integration, so the app shows the same orders and records your staff see.

Many products need Android as well. We compare native Android apps with one shared codebase through React Native and Flutter apps and recommend the route that fits.

An app that grows into a subscription product with many accounts follows the architecture of multi-tenant software platforms. The website that markets and supports the app comes from our web design and development team, so the brand reads the same on every screen.

iOS App Development Questions & Answers

Do you build with Swift and SwiftUI?

Yes. Swift is Apple's programming language and SwiftUI its framework for interfaces across Apple platforms. UIKit still comes in where an older component or a specific control needs it, and we target the iOS versions your audience runs.

How do you get an app through App Review?

We test against Apple's App Review Guidelines before submitting: privacy information in place, account deletion inside the app, in-app purchase for digital features and real native value beyond a website. If Apple raises a question, we answer it, fix what is needed and resubmit.

Can the app use Apple Pay?

Yes, for physical goods and services, connected through your payment processor, such as Stripe. Digital content and features that unlock inside the app must use Apple's in-app purchase instead, so every item in your catalog is matched to its payment method while the app is planned.

Do you design for iPad too?

Yes. The iPad layout uses the larger screen, with sidebars, split views and keyboard and pointer support where the app benefits, and it is checked on iPad hardware. If your audience uses only iPhone, we leave iPad out and keep the budget on the phone.

Who handles the App Store release and updates?

We handle the whole release, from the Apple Developer Program setup and signing to TestFlight builds, the App Store listing and every submission to App Review. The team that built the app stays available for every update after launch, so it keeps pace with each new version of iOS.
